November started appropriately; on the first of the month, a flock of female Wild Turkeys made their way through our backyard.

And I can’t really put into words how much I love turkeys. Usually the only thing I can manage to articulate when I see them is an embarrassing, high-pitched squealing, “turkeys!” which can only be compared to the sound a piglet makes when someone grabs them.

And one thing I cannot tolerate in my orbit is criticism over a turkey’s appearance (or a turkey vulture, for that matter). Because look at these gorgeous gorgeous girls!

Most people have reduced the turkey down to its bald head, but if you look closer, each feather truly is a work of art. I mean, the detail. The iridescence.

And even if you insist that the bald head is ugly (rude, btw), you can’t argue that it’s pretty cool that they can change their head color based on their mood.

tldr: appreciate This BirdTM
