A heatwave killed our 2024 Annual Family Kayaking Trip, which was disappointing. But we went on a hike instead and ended up in the middle of a flock of juvenile Pine Warblers (my best guess) and Chipping Sparrows, so it all turned out okay in the end.
And to close out July, I had this little Song Sparrow singing right next to me one morning; he may have been a threatening me, but I like to think we’re friends now.
