Peach Blossoms

Boy oh boy, have I been busy.

Since I’ve caught up on my photo editing, I’m now trying very hard to finish my newest knitting pattern. I haven’t exactly made it my priority, and it’s been dragging on far too long. Especially since it’s an autumn-themed pattern, and time is ticking for me to get it listed before the equinox.

But while we wait for the season of how-fast-can-I-knit-a-sweater to begin, let’s take a look back at April.

Every year when our backyard peach trees bloom in the early springtime, I swear I’m going to get some great pictures while it’s at its most glorious.

Every year I fail.

But this year I really committed. I stood outside on the porch each afternoon until my arms would ache, trying to coax the birds into landing in just the right spot.

And by golly, I think it paid off.

I ended up with a perfect sister album to the Snow Day one I shot of the same trees back in January.

Which is nice, because soon after, my mother decided that these trees were overshadowing the green bean garden.

And let’s just say I won’t get another chance to photograph birds in the peach blossoms.

Excuse me while I gently sob in the corner

Before you go, check out this photo I put together to help you ID some tricky little birds. Purple and House Finches can be quite difficult to tell apart, but these tips should make it a little easier.
