Good news! I have finished catching up on my editing. After pushing aside literally everything else in my life and dedicating every spare moment to this one single project, I have finally succeeded.

And now it’s time to post some of the photos I’ve labored over. The pictures in this post happened to be taken on my birthday back in April. I don’t usually do much in the way of celebrating my birthday, but I do like to take some time and do some birding. Last year I went down to the coast and added four new lifers to my list. This year I decided to go to our local Audubon Society.

And this birthday was truly auspicious, because it ~just so happened~ to be the day of the Great North American Solar Eclipse. Now, I took this as a sign and ran like hell with it, and I will not entertain any disputes about it.

And is it really a coincidence that my entire life began changing for the better soon after this solar event and hasn’t slowed down yet?

And is it also a coincidence that right smack dab in the middle of weeks of gloomy, rainy weather we got clear skies so that we could watch 92% of the sun disappear behind the moon?

Absolutely not.
Don’t be confused; my sister took these photos of the eclipse. I haven’t taken a picture of anything but wildlife in years.
